The update for proftpd-dfsg announced in ELA 1343-1 introduced a regression for Debian 9 “stretch”, making sftp public key authentification rejected by default. Updated packages are now available to fix this issue.
For Debian 9 stretch, these problems have been fixed in version 1.3.5e+r1.3.5b-4+deb9u5.
We recommend that you upgrade your proftpd-dfsg packages.
